Remakes that will never happen
I finally found a film that Hollywood will never remake.
The Toy starring Richard Pryor.
This movie is about a rich white guy (Jackie Gleason) who hires a poor black man (Richard Pryor) to be a toy for his spoiled pre-teen son.
It doesn’t take a lot to explain why Hollywood would never remake a movie about a black guy who is bought for a rich white guys son as a plaything so I won’t waste our time. Sure, Richard Pryor teaches the boy not to be a little shit all the time and they actually become friends, but he also takes a bath with the kid. YIKES!
There is absolutely no way you could remake this movie in this day and age where everyone is pretty sure that everyone else is a pedophile. Stupid liberal Hollywood. Maybe if Michael Jackson were still alive he would finance a remake….cause he was a pedophile.
PLUS there is the whole buying a black guy as a toy issue that people seem to get their panties in a twist over. I am not sure why…. oh wait.
